"The basics of architecture should be thought of as a starting point or pre-shaping of architectural forms, architectural settings, and architectural concepts. The basics are supported by principles of asymmetry, rhythm of masses, harmony of components, rhythms of proportions and the shock expressiveness of engaged elements. Denying naked, ascetic, box-like architecture, with no architectural saturation of space and unsatisfactory to a human eye, both in terms of aesthetics and emotional feelings, I tried to achieve a truly expressive architectural image in new forms through consonance of major masses.
Architecture becomes the art only when its created images are perceived as 'artistic values'. Architect should not be limited in his work by a narrow framework and servile imitations, but, if needed, overcome obstacles and bravely leap ahead, driven by his powerful fantasy. Those who think that architects should focus on just current realistic requirements are wrong and incorrect.
The way that I chose from the very beginning makes me feel quite confident that the 'system' I invented is a system of 'specific advantages'. Everything notional, object-free, abstract, fantastic, factitious, transitory, illusory, utopic — and everything else that took place in the process of my creative search — all that creates individual stages of creative processes really needed and can be fully employed to achieve highest artistic and pragmatic objectives."
